Hepburn Solar Farm and Battery Storage

Overview

Hepburn Energy’s Solar Farm and Battery Storage Project is seeking to double their energy generation with 5MW (AC) of solar power and add up to 10MWh battery storage. The solar farm will offset another 14% of total electricity consumed and will take the total renewable energy supply from 42% (2021 Hepburn Z-NET Electricity Audit) to 65%.

This facility will use sensitive design principles, minimising the size and impact of the solar array on the farm’s high-quality agricultural land. The co-operative will also use their award-winning benefit-sharing model to ensure community and members reap the rewards of this development.

The planning permit for the solar farm and battery project was approved in September 2022 and funding was secured for the community battery in May 2023.
