The aim of the program is to help residents across the Shire to reduce their energy bills with simple energy efficiency techniques. Transition Creswick, a local sustainability group, will provide the service and encourage you to apply to the program now and receive help over the phone or via email to better understand your energy bills or home energy usage patterns.

Program coordinator Tim Drylie stated “energy poverty is a real issue in the Hepburn Shire and this program will prioritise vulnerable households to have energy audits done and then support them to undertake retrofitting.”

The program includes a free energy assessment of your house plus subsidised upgrades of your home and major fixed appliances, such as insulation, draught proofing, heating and cooling, and shading. The Victorian Government will contribute half the cost of upgrades up to $880. Z-NET can also help to obtain quotes and arrange installation.
