Event: How and why to start a community recycling enterprise

Join community members on September 17 from 7:30pm to 8:30pm to learn more about community waste management.

Communities around Australia have taken control of their tips, transfer stations and resource recovery efforts by starting community recycling enterprises, delivering better environmental, employment, economic and community outcomes from turning trash into treasure.

This online event hosted by Sebastien Klien will bring together experienced community members to discuss how the Hepburn Shire (and surrounds) can tackle this issue. Peter Cox (Eaglehawk Recycle Shop) and Matt Allen (National Association of Charitable Recycling Organisations) will discuss some of their work and what next steps might be needed to cut down on waste.

For anyone in the Hepburn Shire area and nearby that wants to improve re-use, resource recovery and recycling of “waste” materials or might be interested in starting a community-run recycling operation, join the online event via the link here.
